Grove ("we," "us") is a local-first gardening community for iPhone. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your choices are. Plain English, no dark patterns.
What we collect
- Account data: email, display name, and optional profile photo.
- Location: coarse device location (with your permission) used to show distance to nearby posts. We never publish your exact coordinates to other users.
- Content you post: garden beds, journal entries, photos, marketplace listings, messages.
- Waitlist signups: email and optional ZIP code, used only to admit you and tell you when Grove opens up in your area.
- Diagnostics: anonymous crash and performance data so we can fix bugs.
How we use it
To run the app: deliver your feed, sync your garden across devices, route messages, and operate the marketplace. We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party ads.
Who sees what
Other users see your display name, posts, and approximate distance from them (e.g. "0.4 mi away"). They never see your email, exact location, or address.
Data storage
Account data and content are stored with Supabase, our backend provider. Email delivery is handled by Resend. Both are bound by data-processing agreements.
Your rights
You can edit your profile, delete posts, or delete your account at any time from in-app Settings. Deleting your account removes your content within 30 days. Email privacy@grovegarden.app with any questions or to request a copy of your data.
Children
Grove is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and, for material updates, notify you in-app or by email.
